Iron Ore Industry Conference Environmental Approvals Presentation

November 17, 2008

The Australian Institute of Geoscientists (WA) and Geoconferences (WA) Inc hosted a one day seminar at Burswood Perth on Iron Ore industry trends on 17 November 2008.

ecologia staff provided a presentation to the 90 attendees on some current, and often critical, environmental approvals challenges facing the resources industry with both exploring and mining iron ore in Western Australia.

Topics covered ranged from managing emerging new rare flora and fauna issues to navigating a pathway through exploration approvals while at the same time undergoing a formal EPA asessement of a major new mine project.

Many of the issues facing both new junior explorers and large existing multinational operators are common irrespective of the ore body location. The development of the right environmental approvals strategy can make or break a bankable feasibilty study schedule.
