The Tilley Siding Iron Ore Facility is located in the Shire of Morawa and consists of a hard stand stockpile area to allow the transfer of ore from truck to train for transport to Geraldton Port. The facility is being developed as a response to State Government’s Policy and will service Midwest Corporation’s mining activities at Koolanooka and Blue Hills

Environmental assessment for the siding was undertaken by The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) at the level of Assessment on Referral Information (ARI). The EPA report and Recommendations were released on 22 October 2007

The Minister for Environment after having dismissed an appeal against the proposal on 7 January 2008 approved Midwest Corporation’s Tilley Siding Iron Ore Loading Facility Project releasing the Ministerial Conditions on 8 January 2008.
