Tropicana Joint Venture, which is a partnership between AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited and Independence Group NL, has been granted approval by the Minister for Environment to commence the Tropicana Gold Project in the Goldfields of Western Australia. 

The proposal encompasses the construction and operation of an open-cut gold mine and associated infrastructure commencing over a mine life of 15 years. This proposal may be implemented subject to conditions and procedures which have been set by the Minister including undertaking monitoring of the condition and abundance to surrounding vegetation and flora as well as threatened fauna populations.

• Rehabilitation
