Environmentally Sensitive Areas
| Environmentally sensitive areas are protected under the Environmental Protection (Clearing of Native Vegetation) Regulation 2004 and are selected for their environmental values at state or national levels. They include; - Defined wetlands and riparian vegetation within 50m;
- Areas covered by Threatened Ecological Communities;
- Area of vegetation within 50m of Declared Rare Flora;
- Bush Forever sites; and
- Declared World Heritage property sites.
If your project falls within an Environmentally Sensitive Area (ESA), project and clearing approvals enforcements include; - Flora and fauna surveys, regardless of the size of the area your project will impact; and
- Quantified evidence of the extent of your impacts.
There is also a possibility that your project is required to undergo Formal assessment by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). Ecologia Environment botanists have the expertise to assist and enable all approvals requirement, including; - Management of all levels of statutory approvals;
- Conducting flora and/or fauna surveys to determine the presence or absence of rare species;
- Conducting vegetation assessments to quantify your impacts;
- Providing management plans for minimising your impacts; and
- Liaising with regulators and other stakeholders.
